The modularity of the Print System 100 allows it to handle a wide range of production demands. Depending on which components are installed in the system, it can be adapted to different materials, resolutions, print widths, desired ink spectra and numerous other requirements.

Extensive Support

In the Print System 100, the print heads are installed in inkjet cassettes 100. The integrated print head plate ensures that the heads are precisely aligned by 5 µm. This means that print heads do not need to be adjusted individually. Consolidating the core technology in an inkjet cassette 100 ensures comprehensive and rapid support.

Fully Automatic Cleaning

Cleaning is fully-automatic – Cleaning procedures take place without any manual intervention. Because the system has the latest technologies, the cleaning programmes of the cleaning station are extremely infrequent and do not waste much ink. Because it is fully automated, no specialised technician is required for maintaining the print system.

DEF module

The DEF module is a component of the print system. The ready-to-use printing technology is compiled in the DEF module. All components and connections have access to this module. Only fully-automated cleaning of the module, capping the print heads and heating take place outside the DEF module.

The modularity of the DEF module allows it to handle a wide range of production demands. Depending on which components are installed in the DEF module, it can be adapted to different materials, resolutions, print widths, desired ink spectra and numerous other requirements.

What is special about the DEF module?

In the DEF module, the print heads are installed in inkjet cassettes*. The integrated print head plate ensures that the heads are precisely aligned by 5 µm. This means that print heads do not need to be adjusted individually. The print head plate also has a cooling system to draw off the heat from the print heads. A built-in filter system protects the module from potential contamination.

The DEF module only needs to be connected to a power supply, the ink tanks and the network. These resources are then distributed to the individual inkjet cassettes.

Inkjet Cassette 100

An inkjet cassette 100 contains the controller, the ink supply and a Kyocera print head. This means it is a complete, small-format printer. Consolidating the core technology in an inkjet cassette 100 can ensure comprehensive and rapid support.

The number of inkjet cassette 100 that are incorporated in the DEF module can impact factors such as chromaticity, resolution or print width.

Putting together a print system using inkjet cassettes ensures great flexibility and a means to meet the needs of industrial applications. This means: excellent print quality, production speed and reliability.

Technical data for the inkjet cassette 100

The inkjet cassettes are easy to insert from below into the DEF module and are then perfectly aligned already.

Once a print system consists of several inkjet cassette 100‘s, the technical data are derived from just one inkjet cassette 100. This means that the print width can be increased in 100 mm increments.

If the inkjet cassette 100’s are mounted one behind the other, the nozzles-per-line can be increased. This is especially important for avoiding production waste in single-pass operation.

Home and cleaning station

In inkjet printing, it is important to protect the print heads from contamination or drying the inks. This is why the DEF module has external home and cleaning stations.

The home station covers the print heads when not in use and the cleaning station is where the inkjet cassettes are cleaned.
